The house is located in a suburban development outside of Chiang Mai. The rectangular lot walled-in on all sides is interrupted by a garage and gate to the street. The house is constructed from a prefabricated concrete frame elevated above grade as is the custom in Thailand. A continuous walkway and cantilevered roof surround and shade a sequence of rooms. Infilling the large opening in the frame are pairs of teak sliding glass doors. The elemental rigor of the architectural concept is complemented by the manner in which the client, artist Udomsak Krisanamis and his family, inhabit the spaces.
